THE web source for Horse Shows in the Rocky Mountain Region |
The United Professional Horsemen's Association (UPHA) was founded in 1968. It is comprised of 18 chapters covering all 50 states. Champ, the ShowMeTheRibbons Mascot, wondered how our chapter could be Number 19 - and found out that two chapters somewhere else in the country combined to make one. Hence, we're Number 19. The UPHA's primary function is to promote classes for young horses and young riders. Included are UPHA Classics classes for three-year old Saddlebreds and Morgans (and four-year old Hackney Ponies), and UPHA Challenge Cup equitation classes. These classes are among the most prestigious in the country and attract top horses and riders. UPHA Chapter 19 sponsors the Almost Summer Horse Show, held in Denver every June. A full complement of classes for American Saddlebreds and Frieisians, plus Challenge Cup and Classics classes, are offered. The primary aim of the Almost Summer Horse Show is to raise funds for Praying Hands Ranch - but Chapter 19 also supports the aim of making sure that exhibitors have a BLAST! |
